I am a first year Psychology honours student in Daulat Ram College. When I was looking for colleges that offer Psychology in DU, I was surprised to find out that DRC was the only college in North Campus that offered this course. I chose DRC primarily because I wanted a campus life that I could only find in North Campus, and I don't regret my decision.
Daulat Ram has been graded A by NAAC. It has 18 departments that offer 28 courses in UG and PG across 4 streams. The fees for these courses range roughly from 15k-20k PA. Admissions to these courses are done on the basis of cutoffs released by the University. DRC has a number of reputed departments, including the psychology department.
Personally, I find the environment of DRC to be very humble and homely. The infrastructure of DRC may not be as impressive as other colleges, but it'll sure make you feel at home. You can sit in the lawn all day or roam around in the library, or chill with your friends at Rangshala, and you'll never be bored. We also have a decent canteen and Nescafe area in the premises, and if you feel like, you can always go to the famous Patel Chest for some snacks, which is at walking distance from the campus. Accessibility isn't a problem, with swarms of e-rickshaws waiting right outside the gate that can take you to Vishwidyala metro station, and nearby areas like Kamla Nagar and GTB Nagar in just ₹10.
The college can be a little strict about attendance, but teachers are cooperative when it comes to ECA attendance. DRC has made it compulsory for all its students to be a part of either NCC, NSS or NSO, and so you can't miss out on the ECA activities. Moreover, there are a number of wonderful societies where you can explore your talent, make amazing friends and grow holistically.
DRC is a women's college and it may come as a surprise to many, but once you enter the college really, it's a pleasant surprise afterall. I have the most amazing and inspiring women here and I have learned a lot from them. Overall, DRC may not be the most popular college in DU and may seem a little dull in the beginning, but you're sure to grow as a person and cherish the time you spend here when you look back.
