Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, placed in Karol Bagh, is a constituent of Delhi University and offers various courses in the fields of Arts and Commerce. It is a Minority college, which means that it considers Sikh Minority quota while offering admissions. The college is named after the first Sikh Guru, and like other Sikh Minority Colleges, it is managed and sponsored by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee.
SGND Khalsa does not have a very big campus, and the infrastructure is nothing but average. However, the classrooms are spacious and there are different rooms allocated to dance and music societies, along with a common gym room. The college has its own Gurudwara which helps in creating a community of students that are also focused towards spirituality. The library is very well stocked with thousands of books and also houses national and international journals and magazines. There is also a small stationery store present to cater to students’ daily stationery requirements. One major drawback of the college is that there is no sports ground in the campus. Resourceful teachers and a sophisticated crowd add to the value and decent reputation of this institute. A plethora of academic as well extra-curricular societies is what awaits if one is to take admission in this college. The Bhangra team of SGND Khalsa is also quite popular. It can be said that the parking area is the most happening place of the campus. From NCC and Bhangra practices to organising events and fests, everything happens here. The college canteen is considered as the chill zone and is always packed with groups of students.
As for the hangout spots, there is a Tea/Maggi point near the college which is a go to place for the students during the breaks from their classes. Karol Bagh market is also popular amongst the students and is like a paradise for shopaholics. There are various cafes and restaurants in Karol bagh to visit and spend some good time with friends. Students often go to Connaught place to enjoy themselves as it is not too far from the college.
Nearest metro stations from the college are Shastri Nagar and Rajendra Place, from where one can easily get a ride on a rickshaw. Ola and Uber cabs are also available near the campus. Overall, it is a well-connected college and transportation is not so much of a hassle.
Considering the limited space, the college does not provide for accommodations on campus, but there are a few PGs nearby. Houseitt comes to aid when you're looking for a suitable PG for yourself or for your friends, with well-furnished PGs starting at just INR 8500.
