Inside Kamla Nagar

Back

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about Kamla Nagar is that the place NEVER sleeps. It doesn’t matter if it’s 4am or 4pm, you can go out and roam around the lanes of Kamla Nagar at any point of day (or night) and you’ll find the place still bustling with the cacophony of street vendors, the musical call of e-rickshaws and the quiet company of people as lost as you. And somehow amidst all this noise, Kamla Nagar has a way of never letting you feel lonely even at the darkest hours.

Kamla Nagar is a heaven for shopping enthusiasts, owing to the lively Kamla Nagar market. There’s something for everyone- you can find street vendors selling clothes, artificial jewellery, footwear and what not at the cheapest price, while also having the option of browsing brand outlets like Pantaloons, Reliance Trends even HnM within the vicinity of 500 meters.

For fellow foodies too, the options are endless. From thelas to chain restaurants like McDonalds, Dominos, CCD, Subway; to even sophisticated cafes like Rico’s, you always have something new to try each time you step out. Naturally, you never run out of hangout spots to go to with your friends.

Being so close to North Campus too has its advantages for students. The area is student friendly, with PGs and hostels at every corner. You can easily find PGs that suit your price range too, because of the many options available.

E-rickshaws provide an easy and cheap mode of transport to the colleges of North campus, Vishvidyalaya and GTB metro station, and areas like Hudson Lane. Personally, when I want to get away from the bustling streets of Kamla Nagar, I find solace in roaming the streets of North campus, enjoying Sudama Ki chai and sitting in the VC lawn, all of these places being at walking distance from my PG.

In the end, I feel that a lively campus life is an important part of a student’s life, and I’m glad that I get to enjoy every aspect of my college life by living in Kamla Nagar, where I never run out of places to explore, food to enjoy and memories to cherish for the rest of my life.
